Description of the Community to be Served

      Turkish Cancer Society (TÜRKİYE KANSERLE SAVAŞ DERNEĞİ) is well recognized all volunteer, charity organization which provideslow cost or free medical diagnostic and treatment services to the needy general public with no sufficent financial me   ans. The society owns and operates a fully specialized out patient clinic and the sister  organization.    

       Turkish Cancer Foundation (TÜRKİYE KANSER SAVAŞ VAKFI) provides very specialized long term treatment. Some 15% of the patients have absolutely no financial means and the rest are typically low to medium income bracet family members who can not efford private medical care.

 

Description of the Project

      The Society  recently organized a new treatment center in Istanbul and has built, a set 16 rooms for patients who will need serious surgery operations and chemotherapy. This project aims at buying 16 special hospital beds, which are to have remotely controlled moving parts. The total cost will be 24000 -USD.

 

Project Status

      The project will shortly be listed in the WORLD COMMUNİTY SERVICE. Project Exchange Bulletin and The District project objective is to organize the project through a MATCHING GRANTS Projects of IRF where The )International. Sponsoring Club(s)/District(s) will be kindly asked to contribute and exact 25% of the required project sum total of 24000 USD, 6000 USD Project Country ROTARY CLUBS of D-2420 have already secured this sum. The concerned clubs are:

Istanbul-Levent, D-2420

 

Project Information Available

      A fully detailed project report has been kindly been provided by The Department and the site photos, proforma invoice are readily avaliable. Supporting medical evidence and statistics would be avaliable in detail, if required.

Participants

     The community to be served have neither the organization nor the means to contribute to a project at this sclae despite the fact that families of past patients with means try to do best by means of buying providing supplies and non medical building and office maintenance items.

 

Club   

      Having been fully informed and briefed in writing by the hospital staff, The Club is fully exposed to the project idea and every single found raising activity is organized with this project in mind. The club has planned to contribute cash 6000-USD to this particular project.

 

Description of  Rotary Club

Chartered in 1984, The club has 54 Members of which 3 are women. Is that 12 PHFs, all gained through MG projects and plans to make entire membership PHSs in 2002, This is the lead club of RI D-2420 community in regard to MG project and won many district awards for international humanitarian project works. the Club actively motivates several other RCs of the district for WCS work.
